Afternoon Antiques
Chair:  Judy Hayes
Meets:  4th Wednesday of the month at 1:00 pm in members’ homes
Description:  Come explore the wonderful world of antiques from the exotic to the practical.   Presentations are given by members and is open to anyone interested in learning more about antiques

Evening Antiques
Chair:  Clare Baylor
Meets:  2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 pm in members’ homes; occasionally on weekends
Description:  Become more personally involved in learning about antiques through member discussions, tours of antique shops, and other places of historical interest

Art Appreciation
Co-Chairs:  Kathleen Rotella and Betsy Nichols
Meets:  3rd Wednesday of the month at 12:30 pm in members’ homes or places of artistic interest
Description:  Gain a deeper appreciation and excitement of art by looking and learning about local art, artists, and exhibitions along with exploring artists of the past, known and unknown

D.I.N.E.
Chair:  Diane Lux
Meets:  3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm at various ethnic restaurants with occasional Saturday luncheons
Description:  Definitive discussions follow indulging in delicious menus offered at various ethnic restaurants to “get the flavor” of the area of the world discussed

Music Through the Ages

Meets:  1st Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm in Pat’s home
Description:  Novice and sophisticated music lovers are invited to study different periods and types of music

Book Discussion Interest Groups

Book Discussion – Afternoon

Meets:  1st Wednesday of the month at 1:00 pm at Swanson Public Library (90th & W Dodge Rd)
Description:  Book lovers are invited to join member led discussions of books chosen and read by the group.  Most selections are “library book bags”

Book Discussion – Evening
Chair:  Esther Scarpelllo
Meets:  1st Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in members’ homes
Description:  Members select a diverse range of books to read based on different geographical regions of the country

Book Discussion – Detective Fiction
Chair:  Kathleen Crawford-Rose
Meets:  3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:45 pm at Willa Cather Library (42nd & Center St)
Description:  Group discussion of a detective fiction/crime novel, the key subject(s) of that novel, and the book’s author which is presented by a member of the group

Great Writers

Meets:  4th Friday of the month at 12:30 pm at Swanson Library (90th & W Dodge Rd)
Description:  Each meeting a member chooses an author to profile for the group.  New members are always welcome!

Description:  Share manuscripts, poems, stories, or articles and receive helpful feedback

Genealogy

Meets:  2nd Friday of the month at 1:00 pm at a variety of places.  Meeting locations will announced in the Ivy Informer
Description:  Goal is to foster an interest in genealogy and support members in researching their family’s history

Grand Slam Bridge

Meets:  2nd Thursday of the month at 11:30 am at Pizza Ranch, 3010 S 84th St
Description:  All skill levels meet for fun and a chance to learn and perfect the game of bridge

Great Decisions

Meets:  4th Saturday of the month at 10:00 am at the Arboretum (8141 Farnam St)
Description:  Discussion of international problems/concerns as they relate to American foreign policy.  Briefing book used is “Great Decisions”  written by the Foreign Policy Association

Leading in the 21st Century

Meets:  3rd Saturday of the month 10:00 am, College of St. Mary
Description:  How do we successfully lead in the 21st Century?  What skills are needed?  This year we will be using the book, Millennials vs Boomers, Listen, Learn, and Succeed Together, by Eric Harvey and Silvana Clark to guide our discussions.
